Shamboh is a solutions-based company. We design and engineer the best possible solution for your site — not an off-the-shelf package.
Ecological design is the practice of creating landscapes that function as ecosystems — productive, resilient, and largely self-maintaining once established, rather than something that needs constant intervention to stay alive. It sits above the other pillars: water, food, land, and construction all get placed on the site according to an ecological design pass before any earthworks or building starts.
In practice that means food forests planned to yield across multiple seasons and vegetation layers, water retention landscapes (swales, ponds, contour planting) that slow runoff and recharge groundwater instead of shedding it, and habitat corridors that reconnect fragmented veld so wildlife movement isn't cut off by a new fence line or driveway. The method draws on permaculture design and applied ecology, but every design still starts from the same place — walking the site and observing it before drawing anything.
This work is led through Six Kingdoms, the same ecological design practice behind our water and natural pool projects, so the site-wide plan and the water system are never designed by two people who never spoke to each other.
